Nymotion linear slides and multiaxis assemblies are precision, high duty cycle US Made positioning systems.  Mount the slide, attach the load and begin work.  As the bearing assemblies, shafts, tooling plates and select Haydon linear actuators are in stock, lead times vary from 1 – 2 weeks ARO for select lead and stroke options.  The three basic slide designs are offered:  Precision Step Thrusters (PST), Moving Motor Slides (MMS) and External Leadscrew Slides (ELS).  The three basic designs are pictured below: 

On the left:  A Size 11 Precision Step Thruster (PST11).  In this design, the carriage (with four linear bearings) is edge or base mounted.  The non-captive actuator's shaft is attached to the center of the tooling plate and when stepped, moves the tooling plate (with attached load) to and away from the fixed carriage.

In the center:  A Size 11 Moving Motor Slide (MMS11).  In this design, an identical non-captive actuator is mounted to the S11 carriage.  The screw and precision ground shafts are fixed, in tension, at both ends.   The load is attached to the face of the carriage.  As the motor is stepped, the motor and carriage are supported by and move along a pair of precision ground shafts.  The motor and carriage are free to travel along the full length of the shafts and fixed lead screw.   

On the right:  A Size 14 External Lead Screw Slide (ELS14).  In this design, an external S14 is mounted to an end plate.  The 0.218" or 0.250" lead screw is passed though the center of the S11 carriage with the nut mounted to the moving carriage.  The lead screw is "fixed" on one end (the motor's bearing system) and supported by a "simple" radial bearing on the far end.  As there is no motor shaft, there is no coupler nor external "fixed" bearing to support the near end of the leadscrew.

Note the generous mounting surfaces and the variety of precision dowel and drilled & tapped hole patterns.  As there are no couplers or intermediate bearing housings, Nymotion slides are simple, economical and are an excellent means to quickly produce prototypes and preproduction systems.
